Are You a Who-er?

The five steps are answering 5 simple questions: What, Why, When, Who and How?
Everything you do in business, from systems to the products you’re selling, is all designed to solve a ‘what’. We want you to get really clear on what it is you’re solving by putting this project into place, or by getting this particular task done. What’s the problem it’s going to fix for you?
Then you’re going to ask yourself, why now? Why is this the most important thing to be solving at this moment? This almost goes hand in hand with the what. We often see entrepreneurs expanding in certain ways simply because it’s what they’re used to. Some people have what we call steel energy, and they’re the ones who are great at dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s, so they often think that they can solve all their problems by putting more systems in place. Others are the real gregarious big personalities, who always seem to think they’ll expand their business and scale if they just get more marketing and more sales. But if you don’t get really clear on your what and your why, it’s easy to get swept up in what you’re good at rather than what your business actually needs!
When are you going to get it done? We always say the right strategy at the wrong time is the wrong strategy!
Now, this is where we often see people wanting to jump straight through to the 5th and final step. They’ve figured out the what, the why and the when, and they want to go straight to the how! What we want to encourage you to do, is to slow down and be a who-er. Focus here on the 4th step, which is … (you guessed it!)
Who do you know that can finally teach you how. Bring that person into your team! Subcontract them, learn from whoever it is that has already successfully walked the pathway you want to walk! The fastest-growing companies, the most successful entrepreneurs, the Richard Branson’s of the world, are amazing who-ers! Instead of jumping straight in and thinking ‘oh I can do that myself, they let themselves learn and be guided by the best!
And that’s what gets them to the final step of how.
